BSc (Hons) Business Computing
Business computing is the study of computer technology within an economic context. It integrates aspects of computing with subjects such as accounting marketing, information systems and business strategy to enable individuals to use computer technologies to implement organizational solutions.
Companies require individuals who can build strong efficient, reliable, and user-friendly systems to drive organisational solutions in an era where computers are increasingly used for information distribution and data analysis. Our BSc Business Computing degree will equip you with the expertise and skills you need to succeed in an ever-changing industry. Faculty members from various businesses will share their knowledge with you.
You will also learn the broad-based skills that employers seek in IT professionals such as leadership and teamwork to project management and problem-solving. The program provides a foundation of knowledge in areas like software development and programming, web design, databases and information systems, as well as making it possible to specialize in areas such as marketing, data analytics, or advanced computer science.
The course will provide you with an understanding of Windows and its application software, such as Word 2002 for Windows word processing, spreadsheets, database management systems, graphic presentation software, and the Internet. It will also provide you with information about e-commerce and computer security.
Most of the time, lectures and seminars are used to teach, with many courses that incorporate computer-based lab exercises. You’ll be expected conduct your own research and study at home as well as at the university.
